Freshly Picked Moccs

We were super excited to get our first pair of new Freshly Picked moccs. They suprised me and arrived just a couple days after we ordered them, which is great because I hate waiting! Aren't they just the cutest little things? I love when thought goes into more than just the product, it came in an adorable little reusable bag with a cute button too. Can't beat that, not only did we get a pair of shoes, but a bag and a pin!
We tried them on right away, and we were both in love with the Frosted Rose color. It goes with a ton of BB's clothes, and they have gotten a great deal of use so far. One of the neat things about them is that when you get them they are identical, there is no right or left foot.
Your little one gets to be the one to create a "right" and a "left" as they wear them and leave their adorable little foot prints on the bottom.
BB isn't the kindest to shoes, she puts them through a lot. The last pair of shoes I had bought her had holes in both of them within a week. We've had these moccs now over a month, and they get worn heaps and there's no sign of any holes! We've never gotten so many compliments on her shoes before, but who wouldn't find them absolutely adorable?! We'll be adding lots more to our collection, that's for sure.

Homeward bound

It's been good America, but it's time to say farewell again! I think BB has been on too many planes...she loves sitting in the seat and getting buckle in. Not long enough to actually stay there for the flight of course. But any time I can get a toddler free lap I'll enjoy it.
She spent a lot of our first flight peeking over and around the seats at the people behind us. At least she wasn't yelling or throwing toys at them...
She was quite happily entertained by some other children and some French fries while we waited for the long flight. That, and climbing up and down the chairs.
...and laying in the middle of the airport floor. At least she'll have one heck of a strong immune system.
I am SO thankful we were able to do these seats. I think I would have gotten very claustrophobic trying to fit myself, a toddler, and all her toddler stuff into a tiny seat. She loved playing on the floor and getting to move around a bit.
She is so thoughtful...making sure mommy enjoys her warm towel...
But luckily she tired herself out and slept most of the long flight.
The airplane food was actually quite good. Some garlic bread, crab salad and lox, and some kind of fruit dessert thing. Oh, and a whiskey and coke of course. And I got to enjoy it and my cod main all while BB slept peacefully. Win!
She woke up just in time to scavenge what fell on the floor...or to just play with some toys.
It was a relatively good trip home. Exhausting for sure, but everyone stayed in good spirits!

Hometown Fun

We haven't even been gone a year and I feel like "home" has changed so much. With so many new buildings and restaurants and parks it seems like a different city. It's been lots of fun reminiscing and of course getting my Mexican food fix!
I'm so glad we got to make it out to Wyoming so the Lewis clan could meet BB for the first time. It was at grandma's house that she finally warmed up to animals...in fact she has become completely obsessed.
Any time the puppy dog moved....so did BB.
Poor Ginger made the mistake of letting BB get real close and even pet her a few times, there was no getting that child to leave the puppy alone. I am impressed at how well she was with Ginger, she was very gentle and never tried to pull her tail or smack her. She was even brave enough to give her a kiss!
We got to explore some of the nature around Lander, WY. One of the fun places to go is Sinks Canyon.
It took quite a while, but BB finally started getting used to grandpa.
I think he liked showing her the fish just as much as she liked feeding them
It's pretty neat to see the pond where all the fish live. It gets filled up with water through the "sink" and looks very calm in one area, and then rushes down the mountain.
BB has started to enjoy patting people on the head and playing with their hair. It makes for a nice little head massage!
Mummy and BB checking out the top portion of the Sink.
We had a great time in Wyoming, though it was a very short trip. We are thankful that we got to visit family, and sad that we couldn't visit everyone we wanted to. Perhaps on our migration back to the US for good we'll have to arrange some more meetings.
It was very hot in Wyoming, which is not normal at all. Of course we only brought our cold winter stuff on that portion of the trip, but grandpa loaned BB his hat. She's pretty good at the gangster stare.

Even though we can get "American Streaky Bacon" at Costco, we had to cook up some bacon while here. It's much thinner than I am used to and the first batch may have gotten a tad crispier than intended. But BB thought it was delicious.
I tried to explain that we still had another week before we were going back home, but BB insisted on trying to pack our bags. She may have tried packing herself a couple times.
My little diva. I have a feeling she is going to be asking for lots of purses, bags and shoes when she starts talking.
My parents have kept many of our old wooden toys and books so we pulled out the boxes and had a play. It was neat to see BB playing with the same puzzles and trains that I remember playing with as a kid. It will be nice when we are back for good so she can play with them a lot more!
We decided to try a new restaurant for dinner when everyone was out to visit so we stopped in to Harumi for some sushi. It was amazing! The chef made BB a delicious little tray with tempura yellow fin, crab, cucumber and a ball of their signature purple rice. She loved it.
The rolls I got were delicious too, and so pretty! I am seriously in love with the purple rice. I wish we had known about this place when we still lived there. If you're in the downtown phoenix area, definitely stop in.
Even though it was warm most of the time we did spend some time enjoying nature.
Which mostly involved picking the leaves off of plants and giving them to mommy.
As we got ready to leave for the main event, my good friend's wedding, I was putting on my earrings so BB took an earring, walked up to the mirror and proceeded to "try it on". It amazes me how much they are like little sponges and copy everything you do, even without direction.
She looked very pretty in her new dress. Though no where near as pretty as the bride!
BB's obsession with patting animals continued with the cats at grandpa's house. I'm a little thankful we don't have a cat or dog for her to constantly want me to help her pat. Hopefully by the time we get back to our puppy dogs she will be confident enough to pat them and look at them without sitting on my lap.
We were SO happy to have gotten to have a couple play dates with this cute girl and her family. I wish we lived close so they could play all the time! We were lucky to get to visit with many of our friends and we loved seeing them all. We really miss everyone and look forward to our next visit.

Home Sweet Home

BB and I have greatly enjoyed our trip back to the states. Travelling alone with a toddler is exhausting, but we survived! We are so greatful to have been able to see family, meet grandma Lewis & family for the first time and catch up with friends. I wish I could take a vacation and relax, but it's time to get back into the swing of things. BB has decided that 6AM is a good time to wake up, grab your purse and pram and take bear for a walk! Mummy is starting to really like coffee...
Spring is in the air! A couple of beautiful birds have decided to hang out in our tree out front.
Getting in the swing of things means laundry has to get done. Luckily for me I have BB to help cart around my clothes.
It's not nearly as hot here as it was in AZ (or even Wyoming!), but it's starting to warm up and in a week BB will be going for Infant Self Rescue swim lessons. A trip to the pool was in order. She absolutely hated the actual pool but loved the splash pad area. We'll have to work on loving the pool a bit.
It's exhausting playing in water all afternoon. Sometimes you just have to find a grassy knoll to rest on.
We got to celebrate the rest of Father's Day with a late Brazilian BBQ dinner.
And discovered the Chinatown of Brisbane.
And BB found some water to play in...of course.
I just can't get over BB's hair! It's getting so long and curls at the end. It makes for really cute curly ponytails and piggy tails.
Rocking her new glasses from great grandma.
While daddy studies BB plays!
Love the free splash pad at Riverheart Parklands. She's a fan.
And then Daddy took us to the big park he discovered while we were gone. It was an awesome park to spend a public holiday at.
And we ended the long weekend with some toenail painting!
